Semester Tests

Remember quarter assignments end on the 19th of December. DO not date any assignments you want to count as quarter grades after 12/19/2012.

In Gradebook make an assignment for Semester Test 1 (or any unique name so it is not the same in Semester 2). As long as you date the semester test 12/20/12 or 12/21/12, it does not matter which reporting term you are viewing. This assignment will not show up in quarter 2 ---it will only show up in the reporting terms S1 or E1 remember.

“Final” Grade Setup:
It will look like this when you click on Grade Setup:

Click on Term weights to see the 3 terms in this semester. “E1” is what the “Exam” falls under because you dated it 12/20/12 or 12/21/12.

Now you can change the weight of the terms. Your semester test assignment is the E1 term.

*Click “Save” and go to your next class and set up the “Final” Grade Setup.

Repeat from * for each class!

Merry Christmas!!

Photography Lovers

I know you are out there......you LOVE this new digital age because of how it has affected the photography world! Whether you have your photos all organized and put into albums or it is on your "Bucket List", do I have the website for you!

The world is a smaller place because of technology and the "social" networking that happens in the blink of an eye. Are you ready for this "Six Degrees" happening? This website came to me through my Twitter following of Katie Morrow who follows Corey Dahl who found this site of online photography tools and resources!

When my taxes are done and I'm waiting for the opportunity to start FAFSA , I'm going to come back to this website named "90+ Online Photography Tools and Resources" and have a great time!

My daughter LOVES Picnik and she "fixes" up her favorite photos with this free site...and look at all the free photos.....there are enough blogs to keep you in reading material for weeks.....and photomixing..... and someday when I get a cell phone with a camera.......!! So many hobbies, so little time!!

Bottling It Up for YOU

In December a few of us went to O'Neill Public Schools to the Apple 21st Century Learning Leadership Institute Event called the 24/7 Learning Journey. I wish I could bottle the information that the teachers shared with us.

While the teachers were showing and telling us what they did in their classrooms, Katie Morrow was capturing it into a podcast. Only 2 of the podcasts recorded correctly. What you see is their screen and what you will hear is their presentation.

So log in and listen as here is as close as I came to that bottling feature - -

Learning in Hand website

I met Tony Vincent in 2002 when he was using Palms with 5th Graders at Willowdale Elem. in Millard. He is a truly amazing teacher! So when I ran across his website I knew it was full of useful, educational information. I had to stand up and move away from the computer to keep from clicking on another link!

I'm warning you: Do not click on this link before you kiss your family and say, "I'll be with you in a couple of days!"
